We Flew to Alaska Just to See the Northern Lights!!

We traveled to Fairbanks, Alaska last winter with one goal: to catch the Northern Lights! Since Fairbanks sits directly under the aurora belt, it’s famous for being one of the best spots on Earth to view the lights—they even say staying three nights gives you a 90% chance of seeing them. We gave ourselves four nights and booked two different tours to maximize our chances. Things didn't start off smoothly—our first tour got canceled due to a massive blizzard! But we quickly rebooked, went out, and managed to catch a glimpse. The real magic happened on our second tour, though. The sky completely opened up, and we were treated to a mesmerizing, jaw-dropping light show that lasted almost the entire four-hour tour! It was easily one of the most incredible experiences of our lives, and we're so grateful nature put on such a unforgettable show for us.
