Alexander the Great built a 2-million-square-mile empire by age 32, only to see it collapse days after his fever death in Babylon in 323 BC. This documentary follows his rise in Pella under Aristotle, taming Bucephalus and inheriting Philip II's army after his assassination, through campaigns at the Granicus, the Gordian Knot and the seven-month causeway at Tyre. It traces his vanished tomb, why his conquests spread Greek language and cities but no kingdom, and how Ptolemy, Seleucus and Antigonus divided his world.
