The Cross Still Matters (Texas Blues)

About This Song: An original, human written song about something that happened once, centuries ago, and still somehow reaches all the way into today. It opens with an honest admission — there was no standing in that crowd, no hearing the hammer or the shouting first-hand. But every time it gets thought through carefully, the cross still feels right here in view, close enough to break the heart over what it actually cost, and close enough to lift back up with grace that felt lost. The pre-chorus captures that tension in a single breath — it breaks and heals at the exact same time. The second verse names something specific: old memories that try calling back, whispering lies about everything lacking. But the cross stands unmoved through all of it, steady, unchanged, saying the same thing it's always said — forgiven, and saved. Scripture Focus: KJV — Galatians 6:14: "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world." Reflection: What happened at the cross was never locked away as ancient history. It's still speaking directly into whatever's happening today, just as clearly as it always has. #TexasBlues #ChristianMusic #TheCross
