Do My Historical Costumes Still Fit? (1860s Ball Gown + Edwardian Suit)

I had an unexpected opportunity come up: a historical house, a casual event, and a handful of free hours, so I thought it was finally the perfect opportunity to get some nice footage of a few costumes. I'd spent hundreds of hours researching and making these, but they due to one thing or another, they had never been properly photograph. I typically close the book on a project when I'm able to get some worn photos of the full ensemble, since I don't usually attend historical dress events (though I'm working on this!). So I decided to take along three costumes, two of which had been made as much as four years ago. In preparation for the weekend, I had to motivate myself to locate all the pieces, their corresponding historical undergarments, and try them all on to ensure they still fit (!!) and that there were no last minute alterations I had to do to make them wearable. I've always found it really helpful, if I need motivation to do something I've been avoiding, to share it with you so I actually get around to doing it and I can talk through my thoughts! These are two entirely different eras and costumes, and so I need to ensure I have the proper undergarments to hold the silhouettes and do the costumes justice - no droopy skirts here!
