Our ferry glides through a busy stretch of the Alappuzha backwaters surrounded by houseboats, speedboats and the sounds of life on the water. 🚤🌿 As our ferry moves through the centre of the backwaters, huge numbers of houseboats fill the water around us. Between them, speedboats move around carrying tourists looking for a faster adventure on the backwaters. As we pass close to the houseboats, their bells can be heard across the water — signals used by the houseboat crews as they communicate with each other. The ferry then approaches a shoreline jetty where passengers are waiting.
