[Japanese Mythology] The Odd Couple of Gods: Onamuchi & Sukunabikona

After the storm passed in Izumo, before the giant god Onamuchi (later Okuninushi) appeared a tiny deity, Sukunabikona, dressed in moth skin and standing only a palm's width high. A giant god and a tiny god. This unlikely "odd couple," differing in appearance and personality, worked together to cultivate the land, discover hot springs, and heal the people. This warm and cheerful acoustic Japanese folk song depicts the beauty of different beings accepting and supporting each other. Track 3 from the album "Kamiari-zuki in Izumo: Tales of the Gods Under Eight Clouds." Experience the story of the gods' "eternal bond," gently sung by Miko Uka. This music and visual content is a fictional artistic work created using AI tools. From the ancient echoes of prayer to the music of today— “Uka of Light” is a singing shrine maiden inspired by Ukanomitama, the grain spirit deity enshrined in Japan’s Inari shrines. While foxes are known as the divine messengers of Inari, Uka is not the deity itself, but a being who carries the voice of the divine into our world. Through her songs, myths and prayers intertwine, reaching deep into the soul. This channel weaves an “audio mythology” that connects the ancient and the present.
