The Transfiguration Trap: Matthew 16:27-28 Jesus’ 1st Century Coming

The Transfiguration, while a glorious preview, was not Jesus "coming in His kingdom" with the majesty and authority of the Father to repay every man according to his works. It was a glimpse, not the fulfillment of His kingly reign or judgment. To equate the "glory" of the Father, His sovereign majesty and kingdom, with the "brightness" of the Transfiguration is to significantly diminish its meaning.
