Inside the Great Electric Train Show 2025 | Milton Keynes Model Railway Exhibition

Join me for a look around the 2025 Great Electric Train Show at Arena MK, Milton Keynes, presented by Hornby Magazine and Key Model World. This was one of the biggest model railway exhibitions I’ve ever visited, with more than 90 layouts, traders, manufacturers and displays packed into the show. In this video we take a closer look at some of the standout layouts from the weekend, including Pete Waterman and the Railnuts’ Making Tracks 3, Grantham – The Streamliner Years, East Coast Cement, Beijiao, Harefield Road, Newport Street, Lockbourne Ohio, Mynydd Tatws Newydd and plenty more. There’s a huge mix of modelling on display, covering OO, O, N, OO9, HO, HOe and S scale, with everything from British steam and BR blue diesels through to modern image, London Underground, Welsh narrow gauge, Austrian railways, Chinese industrial steam and American railroading. The show also featured a massive selection of model railway manufacturers and retailers, giving visitors the chance to meet the people behind many of the models, see new and upcoming products, and shop everything from cottage-industry accessories through to the major brands. Coming from Australia, it was also fascinating to see how one of the UK’s largest model railway exhibitions compares with the shows we have back home.
