Resonance Happens Before Communication: When One Universe Meets Another

How do we communicate with one another? I understand expression as a spectrum extending from highly coded to non-coded forms: from language, which depends on a shared system of vocabulary, grammar, and concepts, to music, images, painting, and bodily movement; and then further into behavior, relationships, space, and those subtle forms of communication that have not yet been consciously recognized but are already being perceived by the body. Underlying all these different forms is vibration. Form is the manifestation of vibration as it descends into a particular density. Vibration does not arise randomly; it is organized by a certain configuration—an underlying pattern and organizing principle. This configuration, in turn, comes from the way a being exists and organizes itself at the moment an expression arises. Therefore, when we communicate, what takes place is never merely an exchange of information between finite forms. It is an encounter between one being and another—a meeting, collision, and resonance between two ways of being, two vibrational patterns. Every encounter organizes new vibrations, new directions, and new possibilities that did not exist before. Each new vibration carries within it an inclination toward the density and form through which it wishes to appear. Within us, this inclination may arise as the desire to express or create something. It not only participates in the expression of the present moment, but continues to enter both lives, reorganizing the trajectories of their future development and creation. When someone recognizes that their expression is, in fact, serving life’s own expression, perhaps their role is simply to leave enough space in the moment of expression—allowing the vibration to descend through them and manifest as the form it wishes to become. This does not mean that we are no longer responsible for our expression. But once we recognize that every expression moves through an entire continuum, from the invisible into the visible, the place from which we take responsibility may shift from the endpoint further upstream— from “What do I want to express, and how should I express it?” back to: How am I being in the moment this expression arises? Where am I placing the other person within my way of relating? Is this expression serving life’s own expression? Am I truthfully allowing the vibration moving through me to emerge in the form it wishes to take? Before we communicate, resonance has already begun. One universe has already begun to embrace another.
