A detailed historical and spiritual documentary exploring Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and the rich Sikh history preserved across the historic gurdwaras of Patna and Rajgir. Covering eight historic gurdwaras, numerous sakhis, oral traditions, sacred places, childhood stories, and the journeys of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji, this film is an in-depth journey through the Sikh heritage of Patna. At the heart of the film is the childhood of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, born as Gobind Rai in Patna. The documentary explores the stories associated with his birth, early years, childhood, and the people and places connected with his life in Patna. From Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib to Gurdwara Bal Leela, Gurdwara Kangan Ghat, and Gurdwara Guru Ka Bagh, these places preserve stories that continue to be remembered through generations. The journey begins with Japji Sahib, Pehli Pauri, before moving to Gurdwara Gai Ghat, associated with the arrival of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Patna, and Gurdwara Sonar Toli, where the story of Lal and Bhai Mardana Ji is remembered. The documentary then explores Takhat Sahib, the establishment of the first Sangat in Patna, and Gurdwara Guru Nanak Sheetal kund in Rajgir, connected with Guru Nanak Dev Ji's journey and the tradition surrounding Sheetalkund. The story then moves to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's eastern journey, his connection with Patna, and the Hukamnama associated with the birth of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, sent by Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji while he was in Assam. The film follows these accounts into the birth of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the well-known sakhi of Peer Bhikhan Shah. From there, the documentary enters the childhood stories of Bala Preetam, visiting Gurdwara Bal Leela, Gurdwara Kangan Ghat and Gurdwara Guru Ka Bagh, including the sakhi of Pandit Shivdutt and the meeting of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with Bala Preetam. The film also explores the sacred objects and places associated with Guru Gobind Singh Ji's childhood, including the Shaster and other belongings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Mata Gujri Ji's Khoo, Chola Sahib, and the Diwan Hall at Patna Sahib. The journey concludes with the departure from Patna and Gurdwara Handi Sahib, followed by a conversation with the management of Patna Sahib about the seva and facilities available to Sangat, including transportation, accommodation, and access to reliable information for pilgrims visiting Patna Sahib. This film presents these stories through the sakhis and oral traditions as they are told and remembered in Patna. Historical accounts can vary between historians, traditions, and communities, and different people may hold different interpretations of these events. We respect those differences. Rather than imposing our own interpretation, the documentary attempts to present these stories in their traditional form and allow the places, people, and traditions of Patna to speak for themselves. More than a travel film, this is an exploration of Sikh history, Sikhism, the Sikh Gurus, and the enduring connection of Patna with Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
