Mozambique: Improving sanitation in Maputo, one community at a time

What does it take to improve sanitation in one of Africa's fastest-growing cities? In Maputo, WSUP is working alongside communities, utilities and local partners to help more families access safe, dignified sanitation. From improved shared toilets to stronger local services, this work is helping make everyday life healthier and more comfortable for residents in low-income urban communities. This video explores how collaboration is driving progress across the city. By supporting sanitation infrastructure, strengthening desludging services, and promoting good hygiene practices, WSUP and its partners are helping build a more inclusive and resilient urban sanitation sector—one that responds to the needs of the people it serves.
