Splatoon Raiders: Part 18: Bowtlode Temple (Flappetizer Boss)

This level is a significant raiding point. So significant that Shiver offers herself to be the exclusive Bot Buddy for this raid. You can't use anyone else, because this is framed as her trying to keep an eye on your innocent Mechanic. Shiver doesn't trust them enough to not scurry off with whatever treasure awaits you at this spot... ---------- Investigating the area, the two quickly encounters another Salmonid, but this one was even more powerful than a Seasoned Salmonid. No... this was in fact a Mythical Salmonid: The Flappetizer! This giant flying fish can whip up giant cyclones of bad ink against you. Like its smaller counterparts, it can also summon spinning drool sacks at you that you can use to give yourself an airy boost. As you drain the Flappetizer's health, it will then conjure up a windy shield to maximize its defense. The only way to crack through this is to gather enough Power Eggs so that Shiver can use her Bot to drill right into the Salmonid and stun it for a few seconds, giving you BIG opportunity to lay on the damage, including a Showstopper if you have on at the ready. The Flappetizer will use its wind defense twice, so likewise you'll be gathering Power Eggs twice. You'll be finishing it off before it even tries to think about preparing a third shield. If you fail this raid (like I did), you'll have to fight this boss from the very beginning, but once again, failure is not a complete loss thanks to still getting EXP and collectibles. Remember that I'm playing this on Survivalist difficulty. ---------- After Mechanic & Shiver defeat the Flappetizer, a massive Relic is spawned from it. At this point, my Mechanic has proven her trust to Shiver. And Shiver... she takes quite a liking to her up close, hmmm... Though she then snapped back to reality to try to remind herself that she's leading the whole crew. She was really eager and confident to make millions taking this treasure from the Salmonids and helping Splatsville pay off its terrible debt. "An eye for an eye", I think Shiver would say. "HAAAAAAAA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!" ---- But then, the huge Relic opened itself up, causing the Bot to react with some kind of song, one that Shiver recognized from her clan... She sung to the ancient tune of the song, and the Relic starting generating stars in the sky, visualizing a constellation. The constellation was of Salmonids looking up at a tower, seemingly one with gold at the very top. This constellation was the first of three clue that Deep Cut & the Mechanic needed in order to reach the Spirhalite Island's ultimate treasure! So far, it has something to do with singing! ---- The main treasure you get is a Relic called the Awkward Letter Opener. It raises the rate of your Showstopper Gauge increasing from gathering Power Eggs, but it feels like there's more to this Relic than just this weak-looking knife... From there, I raise my Raiders Title to Loot Scavenger. ---------- As said before, the Mechanic has completely earned Shiver's trust. At least for now, that is. Shiver didn't actually bother to take back the big Relic, though, thinking that constellation clue was rewarding enough, but she was having second thoughts, too. For now, it was time for the crew to rest before planning their next series of raids.
