O Gauge Gresley A4 “Seagull” on a running in turn at Sutterby. Following a major overhaul during the winter season, which included the re bushing and beefing up the coupling and con rods along with new horn bocks/bearings and axles etc, the engine was given a running in turn at Sutterby. Having previously completed over 250 REAL miles around the garden layout over the last 10 years the engine was well in need of attention. Most of the footage here is, I’m afraid, a little shaky in places as it was quickly “grabbed” on my phone, so apologies here. Hauling a mixture of teaks built from scratch, Kirk Kits and the superb Sparmac Kits, Seagull completed a couple of hours running in, which equated to approximately 3 real miles, running as smooth as silk with no problems. As you can see, engines and stock on this line have to work for a living.
