https://prepineer.com/fe-exam-review-... | In this video, we dive in to an FE Exam Practice Problem in the subject of CHEMISTRY, specifically revolving around the OXIDATION NUMBER.
What is the OXIDATION NUMBER?
The OXIDATION NUMBER is a tool that we use to keep track of electrons as they move between molecules, atoms, and ions in chemical reactions, most commonly as we will see in oxidation-reduction reactions, or redox reactions.
So the Oxidation Number is a tool.
A good analogy to help grasp the concept of the purpose of Oxidation Numbers is to picture them in terms of a bookkeeper for a business.
A bookkeeper is responsible for keeping track of the money coming in to and going out of the business accounts...the Oxidation Number is the bookkeeper of chemical reactions...keeping track of the electrons going in to and out of eat element as they create new molecules through chemical reactions.
There are some general rules we can establish to help us identify the OXIDATION NUMBER or OXIDATION STATE of an element within a molecule.
Jump in to this FE Exam Chemistry Practice Problem to see how it all goes down.

Are you currently moving along as you would want in your FE Exam Review?
Maybe you don't even know where to start and are looking for FE Exam Study Schedule?
Or maybe you are just trying to put definition around the question:
"What is the FE Exam?"
On this front, let's put that question to rest.
The FE Exam (which is formally referred to as the Fundamentals of Engineering exam) is the first of two exams you will be taking as an engineer to obtain your Professional Engineer License (PE).
You may also hear this exam referred to as the Engineer in Training exam (EIT Exam), in which, once you pass, you will obtain your EIT Certification...or in some states, become an Engineering Intern (EI)...same thing.
As far as eligibility is concerned, to sit for the exam, generally speaking, anyone with a degree in engineering or a related field, or currently enrolled in their final year of an ABET accredited engineering curriculum, is eligible to take the FE Exam.
Each state does have their specific requirements so you must refer to your local engineering boards for the specifics, especially if you fall outside the general requirements stated above.
Nonetheless, preparing for the FE exam starts with one step and continues with one step, each and every day...making incremental progress...it's a marathon, not a sprint.
You can do this, keep showing up, day after day...and you win.
This is the goal of the PREPINEER DAILYDOSE series, providing you an incremental stepping stone to get back in to grind mode, putting in work and building unstoppable momentum in route to a successful FE Exam result.
