Allett Stirling Backlapping Fix – Solving the Reel Flex Problem

I'll show you how I personally backlap my Allett Stirling 43 using a method I’ve developed to address reel flex caused by belt tension and the suspension of the reel. If your lawn is showing signs of poor cut quality like shredded tips or a “90s haircut” it could be due to reel-to-bedknife misalignment. I’ve created a simple way to simulate the downward force applied by the belt tensioner while backlapping inside the mower to "self calibrate" under chassis stress.
