This song is inspired by the countless places in Scripture where God's personal name appears, yet many people have never seen it in their Bible. God's name appears more than 7,000 times in the original Hebrew Scriptures, but in many translations it has been replaced with titles such as "LORD" or "GOD."
The Bible preserves the names of false gods such as Baal, Molech, Dagon, and others, yet God's own name is often hidden from view. This song asks an important question: Why would the personal name of the Creator be removed while the names of false gods remain?
Throughout His ministry, Jesus made His Father's name known and honored it before His disciples.
Why has God's personal name been hidden from so many people? The Bible contains the divine name Jehovah thousands of times, yet many translations have replaced it with titles such as "Lord" and "God."
The book of Ezekiel repeatedly emphasizes a powerful truth. More than 60 times, Jehovah declares that "the nations will have to know that I am Jehovah." This recognition is not presented as optional but as a certainty that will accompany the fulfillment of God's purposes and the vindication of His sovereignty.
This song reflects on the importance of Jehovah's name, the efforts made to obscure it, and the Bible's promise that the whole earth will ultimately come to know who He is. Inspired by the themes found throughout Ezekiel, it highlights God's name, His truth, and the hope of those who seek Him with a sincere heart.
