The right to property - article 1 of Protocol 1 to the ECHR

The right to property is enshrined in article 1 of Protocol 1 to the ECHR. It plays a prominent role in the case law of the European Court of Human Rights; violations of the right to property are also among the few cases in which the Court grants considerable sums in terms of material damage.
