The memorandum presented was signed by three Union Ministers, Opposition Party leaders with a plea against the unorganized Special Intensive Revision drive that has created lot more confusion in the State.
Prahlad Joshi blamed the State government against the SIR drive in its present form while the Chief Minister DK Shivkumar defended the SIR drive and termed the entire exercise as a gamut to register authenticating the proof of residency. While Prahlad Joshi termed the exercise as irregularities in mass that is visible in the present form and termed it as the process that has undermined the very fabric of democracy.
The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has undermined the seriousness of the exercise that has caused gross irregularities while delegating and performing of the duties of BLOs, DEO and DCs. The compliance of filling of applications at platforms using community halls, Mosques and the residences of BLOs is a cause of concern while delegating duties of SIR compliances in the State.
