Healthy Schools Campaign launched our 2026 Change for Good series with The Power of Public Schools: The Hidden Healthcare System Behind Student Success. This event elevated the often unseen work happening in schools to support student health and well-being, and shared how you can take action and be a change for good to protect and support school-based health services. Many thanks to our keynote speaker – Dr. Mike Underwood, Acting Director of the Division of Adolescent and School Health, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – for his remarks. We also want to show appreciation to our fantastic panel of school health experts and advocates: Ayaan Moledina, Federal Policy Director, Students Engaged in Advancing Texas (SEAT) Ariel Taylor Smith, Senior Director of Policy and Action, National Parents Union Randy Queen, Lead School Psychologist, Roanoke County Public Schools Gloria E. Barrera, School Nurse Expert & Advocate, University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Thank you for your commitment to students, families and public schools!
