"The Selkie's New Skin" version from "If Women Rose Rooted" by Sharon Black Starting with a Ursula K le Guin quote from the same chapter. I originally recorded this for a group I was facilitating. I mentioned about Selkies and no-one in the group had heard the stories ... living in Scotland for so long it surprised me that few outside these lands had heard them and there are so many versions ... At time I'd just read this version and it felt like the journey I had been walking myself, as I know it did for the women I was working with hearing for the first time about not only reclaiming their skins, but finding their new ones.
