Arcus means like an arc or bow and senilis refers to elderly people. It has been estimated that it may appear in 60% of elderly people, who are between 40 and 60 ears of age. It may appear in almost all eyes above the age of 80 years. Arcus senilis is a ring like white opacity inside the cornea of aged persons. But it can occur in young age.
