Beginning with the diverse societies that existed before colonial rule, the documentary follows the growth of European commercial interests, Britain's annexation of Lagos, expansion along the Niger, the role of the Royal Niger Company, resistance to colonial expansion, and the creation of the Northern and Southern administrations. We also explored the 1914 amalgamation, colonial administration, and indirect rule, the development of Nigerian nationalism, constitutional changes, and the political journey that ultimately led to Nigeria's independence on October 1, 1960. This documentary is created for historical education and discussion.
