Tillinghast design. This golf course is one of the rare gems that hasn't really changed since it first opened in 1918. In fact, it might just be the most authentic Tillinghast course you'll find on the list of the 100 Greatest. This course has a picturesque and relaxed layout that weaves its way through untouched, rolling terrain. You'll spot some rock formations and encounter some small butôdistinct water features along the way. Tillinghast added a touch of playfulness to the design, with unique "dolomite" mounds bordering one green and surprising little knobs on another putting surface. And just like Baltusrol Upper, Somerset Hills features one of Tillinghast's take on a Redan-style par 3 hole.
