The quartet, which grew out of guitar legend Robben Ford's band, has been on stage for 43 years and can look back on a history of 25 recorded albums, 17 Grammy nominations, two Grammy Awards and sold-out tours worldwide. But they're not just looking back; in 2025, the bustling quartet is once again touring the world and is more eager to play than ever: look forward to one of the highlights of this fall! Russell Ferrante is an American keyboardist, known in particular as the leader of the Yellowjackets. His professional career began in the 1970s, where he played with Yellowjackets founding member in the Robben Ford - Band. Since its inception, he has been the leader of the Fusion Supergroup. In addition to this work, Ferrante has also appeared as a sideman for numerous other artists, including Joni Mitchell, Sadao Watanabe, Eric Marienthal, Lee Ritenour, Chuck Loeb and more. Along with bandmate Mintzer, he is a lecturer at the University of Southern California in addition to his stage and studio work. Bob Mintzer is an American jazz and fusion musician who is one of the most influential and best of the last decades. From the mid-1970s he played in numerous style-defining big bands, for example the Thad Jones & Mel Lewis Big Band or the Buddy Rich Orchestra. Mintzer's close relationship with big band music probably dates from this period; he has composed and arranged hundreds of pieces for this format since then. Since 2016, he has been the principal conductor of the WDR Big Band, one of the world's most renowned jazz ensembles; he joined the Yellowjackets in 1990 and has been with them continuously ever since. He has played with Sam Jones, Peter Erskine, Jaco Pastorius, Miroslav Vitous, Bobby McFerrin, Kurt Elling and countless more and has been honored and awarded many times for his work. Dane Alderson is the youngest member of the Yellowjackets, joining the band in 2015. The top Australian bassist won numerous awards and scholarships in his youth, cementing his reputation as an up-and-coming bass talent in his homeland. He has toured internationally regularly and continues to play in a wide variety of lineups. The last of the bunch is Will Kennedy, who already played with the Yellowjackets in the 1980s and 90s and has been back in charge of the drums since 2010. Whether as a drummer for the fusion pioneers, as a session musician for television and radio, or as a highly sought-after sideman, Kennedy is an incredibly groovy and versatile drummer who has been an integral part of the Bay Area music scene. He has worked with numerous well-known and style-defining artists such as Herbie Hancock, Chaka Khan, Snarky Puppy, Esperanza Spalding, George Benson. You could walk into a packed jazz haunt and bear witness to him behind the piano with energy practically surging from his fingers through the room. You might scroll up on social media and catch him alternating from drums to bass to guitar at the speed of a jump cut. You may also step onto festival grounds and see him on stage either solo or accompanying another like minded visionary, jamming like his life depends on it. No matter where, the New York-born and Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer electrifies any lane. By doing so, he also transcends perceived boundaries between genres and styles, redefining the music to mirror his own fluid creative inclinations and delivering a sound that’s solely his alone. Sharpening his skills with thousands of hours and hundreds of gigs, he established himself as a highly sought-after collaborator of the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Kurt Elling, Nick Hakim, Meshell Ndegeocello and many more —whether on piano, drums, synths, or bass. 10:04 Run To It Julius Rodriguez - keys Emilio Modeste - sax Brandon Rose - bass Willie Barthel - drums Recorded live at Zig Zag jazz club in Berlin on 24.10.2025 Watch the full video here:    • Julius Rodriguez Quartet | Emilio Modeste ...   Audio recording - Jeremy Nothman Video and audio mixing - Alex Hoetzinger #Yellowjackets #BobMintzer #RussellFerrante #DaneAlderson #WillKennedy #GrammyJazz #JuliusRodriguez #JazzLive #ZigZagJazzClub #VictorsPlaces #JazzQuartet #JazzMusic #EmilioModeste #BrandonRose #WillieBarthel
