Mrigayaa - a mystical quest Dedicated to my Chotoma, (late) Sabita Bagchi, a devotee of Gopal. In Bhagvad Gita, Krishna says that the only way you can conquer me is through love and there I am happily conquered. “Mrigayaa” is the soul’s eternal quest for Love. In the Devdasis, lies a friendship that unites in that quest and eventually one makes her onward journey towards the ultimate union. The musical composition symbolizes that quest in Mrigayaa with a perfect harmony of a popular Krishna ‘Thumri’ and ‘Kirtan’. Two prominent singers of today’s generation, Padma Palash and Arshadali Ali Khan have beautifully articulated the emotions of love and yearning. The song culminates in the crescendo of “hari bol” and the eternal union. This Janmastami and everyday, let’s embrace love and let it radiate from your soul.
