Our last day in Arambol had finally arrived. After spending so many days settling into a simple rhythm of local breakfasts, fish markets, quiet backroads, home-cooked meals, beach walks, sunsets and familiar faces, it was time to prepare for the long drive home. We started the morning with one final breakfast at the local circle—Puri bhaji for Anosh and a masala 'dosha' for Jayes. Before heading home, we stopped to buy some seasonal mangoes to take back for our parents. Back at the house, Luka was enjoying a peaceful morning while Anosh prepared the car for our journey home. We kept lunch simple with food delivered to the house before finally getting the car ready for the long drive the next morning. And then, as we had done almost every evening during our stay, we headed back to the sea. There was ice cream, a familiar beach dog, an unusually sunny evening, one final dip in the Arabian Sea and, finally, one last sunset over Arambol. This wasn't a grand farewell. It was simply another ordinary day in the little life we'd built for ourselves here. But perhaps that's why leaving felt so difficult.
