The circuit has been improved. First of all. Many LM1881 chips are fake and have trouble with vertical sync. If you get problems with vertical deflection (impulses disappearing) then just increase the Rset resistor. In my case I went from 680k to 1M. 750k didn't work. Second improvement is better contrast. Collector resistor increased in value, lower base resistor lowered in value. This increased the gain of Z axis. I cannot do as much due to screen burn. If you actually decide to do this, please set the transistor gain to something like 10 or even more and adjust gain using some potentiometer. Less work and easier to adapt to devices with various signal levels. Apart from mentioned changes the rest is the same. Please refer to previous video for schematics etc.    • Bad Apple Oscilloscope
