The NAACP National Leadership Summit Town Hall Meeting, broadcasted live by the Black College Satellite Network (BCSN) held in Baltimore, MD on the campus of Sojourner-Douglass College on June 13, 1994, brought together prominent African American leaders to discuss unity, civil rights, economic empowerment, education, community responsibility, and strategies for addressing challenges facing Black America. The summit was convened by Benjamin Chavis Jr., then Executive Director of the NAACP, as part of an effort to build greater cooperation among civil rights, religious, civic, and community organizations. The Town Hall Meeting was moderated by television journalist Ed Gordon (BET).
