Call of Duty: Black Ops II, is a first-person shooter developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. This is the ninth main installment for the Call of Duty franchise released on November 13th, 2012. Announced on May 1st, 2012, during the NBA basketball playoffs, Black Ops II is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops. On June 17th, 2026, Treyarch announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops II would be ported to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, with a planned release in July of the same year, developed by Iron Galaxy Studios.[5] The ports were released on July 9th, 2026. The story takes place across two separate arcs, one recounting events in 1986-1989, a few years after the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and 18 years after Mason stops Dragovich and Nova 6, and the other following characters in the year 2025.
