The Philippines Feels Different For Expats Now

Life in the Philippines has felt a little different lately. After more than a year of feeling completely at home here, I've noticed that some expats are moving a little differently now. The recent crime stories involving foreigners have definitely changed the way some people look at life here, and I talk a little about how that has affected the feeling of being an expat in the Philippines. But just when things were starting to feel a little different, something happened that reminded me why I love being here. I finally connected with a guy who wants to go riding off-road—and even better, he knows some trails! I've been wanting to get the KLX 300 out and explore for a while, so finding someone who actually knows where to ride has me pretty excited. So I decided it was time to finish installing the last of my accessories. I still had the foot pegs, tail-light relay, front sprocket and rear sprocket to take care of. Of course... things didn't go exactly as planned. 😂 The front sprocket I ordered turned out to be the wrong one, even though it was listed as the correct sprocket for the KLX 300. No big deal—I ordered the correct one, and once it arrives, I'll be ready to finally get this bike out on the trails. Sometimes plans don't work out exactly the way you expect, but that's part of the adventure. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
