I gave Claude Code my raw iPhone footage—complete with awkward pauses, repeated takes, and mistakes—and asked it to edit my first YouTube video. The results surprised me. In this video, I'll show you how I used Claude Code to turn a messy recording into a finished YouTube video, including automated cuts, cleaner audio, color adjustments, and motion graphics created with HyperFrames. I'll walk through the actual Claude Code project, show before-and-after examples, explain what worked (and what didn't), and share a starter prompt you can use to try AI-assisted video editing yourself. I'm not a professional video editor. I'm figuring this out as I go, and that's part of why I wanted to share it. *🛠️ TOOLS USED* Claude Code: https://docs.anthropic.com/en/docs/cl... HyperFrames: https://www.hyperframes.dev/ FFmpeg: https://ffmpeg.org/ Whisper.cpp: https://github.com/ggml-org/whisper.cpp *📋 FREE CLAUDE CODE STARTER PROMPT* Copy and paste this into Claude Code to begin creating your own editing workflow: I want to use Claude Code to help edit my talking-head videos, but I'm new to AI-assisted video editing. Please help me set up a simple, reusable workflow using tools like FFmpeg for video processing, Whisper for transcription, and optionally HyperFrames for animated graphics. Start by checking what software is already installed on my computer. Explain what we need, any costs or limitations, and ask permission before installing anything. Then help me: 1. Import my raw recording without changing the original file. 2. Transcribe the video and identify mistakes, repeated takes, and long pauses. 3. Select the best takes and assemble a natural-looking rough cut using my actual spoken words. 4. Make subtle audio and visual improvements without overprocessing. 5. Create a short preview so I can review the edits before rendering the full video. 6. Optionally add motion graphics with HyperFrames. 7. Export a finished MP4 suitable for YouTube. Preserve my original voice and natural speaking style. Save the workflow so we can reuse and improve it for future videos. I'm a beginner, so guide me step by step. Start by inspecting my computer and asking me where my video files are located. *A QUICK NOTE* The workflow shown in my video was developed over several previous projects. Starting fresh will involve setup, experimentation, and reviewing the results. Claude Code can help with those steps, but it's not a one-click solution. Subscription requirements and usage limits can also vary. *⏱️ CHAPTERS* 00:00 — My first YouTube video, edited with Claude Code 01:36 — Inside my Claude Code project 02:44 — How Claude removes mistakes and repeated takes 04:02 — Reviewing and correcting the transcript 04:32 — AI video color correction 05:03 — Creating motion graphics with HyperFrames 06:19 — Previewing and rendering the finished video 08:00 — How to try it yourself 08:57 — Would I use Claude Code again?
