Biscuit Ingredients: 2 cups of self-rising flour 1/4 cup of shortening 1 tsp of baking powder (optional) Pinch of baking soda Pinch of salt (optional) Whole Buttermilk 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. 2. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl. 3. Add shortening to the flour mixture and blend until well combined. I used a blending fork to combine mine. 4. Slowly add in the buttermilk. Stir in between pours. Keep adding and stirring until everything in the bowl comes together. 5. Flour your cutting surface. Knead/fold the biscuit dough at least 6-7 times. 6. Pat or roll the dough out to about half an inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter to cut the biscuits. I used 7 2 1/4 inch biscuit cutter. 8. Place biscuits close together in a greased baking pan. Pat the top of the biscuits with a little bit of buttermilk. 9. Bake for 13-15 minutes. I baked mine for 14 minutes. #homemade #breakfast #buttermilkbiscuits #biscuit
