Digger is WAY ahead of its time.

Digger turned out to be one of the most divisive movies of the year. Based on the trailer I thought it was going to be fairly generic, but damn, I was wrong. This was such a surreal and brilliant movie. I loved it. In fact I might have to do a proper video essay on it some time, because this video is more of an initial review. I keep thinking of more stuff I want to say about it. It’s definitely a movie that lingers with you. And it’s funny because critics also panned movies like Synecdoche, New York, Blade Runner, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Eyes Wide Shut, Vanilla Sky, and the list goes on. But these movies were ahead of their time, and so is Digger, in my opinion. In this video I break down the criticisms of Digger, its cinematic comparisons, Tom Cruise (and the rest of the cast), and give my thoughts as to why I think Digger is actually brilliant. I rate it a 4/5, but I honestly think this could go up over time. This video is a SPOILER-FREE essay/review, followed by a FULL SPOILER conversation at the end. Let me know your thoughts!
