PROPHETS OF DA CITY "Copenhagen Copenhagen"

It’s 1992 and South Africa is in the throes of its tumultuous transition from apartheid to democracy. The country’s grassroots hip-hop group Prophets of da City go on tour to Denmark, and have some fun away from the political pressure cooker. And Nic Hofmeyr makes one of his first documentary films. The film features additional performances by Cheb Mami, Oliver Mutukudzi and Sam Mangwana at the Images of Africa festival in Copenhagen.
