Hotel Bamako: The Day the Music Died 'Hotel Bamako: The Day the Music Died' explores the age-old relationship between art and power - through the lens of a West African institution. It is an exploration of culture - how it evolves hand-to-hand, parent-to-child - made material in the stories of the filmmakers and its subjects.
