FoodPro 2026, Melbourne: Food & Drink Business editor Kim Berry speaks with Sonalika Sharma, Packaging Portfolio Director at Tetra Pak, on Stand L2. Is Tetra Pak still just a packaging company? Sharma makes the case that it is a full end-to-end partner - from fine-tuning a recipe in small-scale trials (as little as 300 to 500 litres in its product development centres), through building and optimising a commercial plant, to connecting it with Tetra Pak's carton packaging. The high shear mixer on the stand, for recipe and pilot testing, will be available at Monash for local manufacturers to trial from September. She also runs through the pressures customers are raising - efficiency, waste, rising operating costs, speed to market, automation and a wave of sustainability requirements - and points to Tetra Pak's global scale, more than 174 billion packages across 160 countries in 2025, delivered through local teams. On show too: a locally made high-protein ready-to-drink coffee in the Tetra Prisma Aseptic 300 with DreamCap.
