6th Sept Evening Service Speaker Rev Lorin Bergen

O Lord, Our Lord: How Majestic Is Your Name — A Study of Psalm 8 In this evening message, Rev. Lorin Bergen walks verse by verse through Psalm 8, one of the great high points of praise in the Psalter. He unpacks the meaning behind its opening line — showing how David uses two different Hebrew names for God to capture both His majestic, eternal nature and His personal claim as our Master — before tracing the psalm's wonder at creation, from the vastness of the stars to the surprising praise of children. Along the way, Bergen shares reflections from his own life on encountering God's glory in creation and in moments of weakness. The message builds to Psalm 8's central question — "What is mankind that you are mindful of them?" — exploring what it means that God made humanity a little lower than Himself, crowned with glory and honor, and entrusted with dominion over creation. Bergen contrasts this biblical view of human worth with a secular, evolutionary one, points to Jesus as the ultimate fulfillment of the psalm, and closes with a call to worship: our right response to God's majesty is to bend the knee ever deeper as both worshipper and servant 0:00 Lead in 00:21 Welcome 01:32 1st Hymn 06:04 Reading 08:32 3rd Hymn 11:32 4th Hymn 14:54 Prayer 16:40 Teaching Time 17:30 Introduction 20:53 Verse 1 27:59 Verse 2 34:44 Verse 3 39:00 Verse 4 42:23 Verse 5 46:42 Verse 6-8 51:14 Verse 9 52:40 Prayer 53:17 Closing Hymn 56:24 Lead out
