Beyond the Roads — Episode 2 After spending the night in Latpanchar, the journey continues deeper into the hills of North Bengal. In this episode, I leave Little Hill Homestay, Latpanchar and ride towards Upper Sittong / Sittong II. What initially looks like another scenic mountain ride quickly turns into a much more challenging section of the journey. The roads become rough, steep and badly damaged, with sections turning into proper off-road trails. Rain makes the ride even more difficult as I climb through the mountains around Kali Jhora, eventually coming across landslide-affected sections of the road. But the difficult roads are also what make this journey special. The route takes me through the same beautiful region explored in Episode 1, including the direction of Ahaldara View Point and Namthing Pokhri, before continuing deeper towards Upper Sittong. After reaching Namthing Pokhri, I park the bike and explore the surroundings on foot. With rain continuing to fall, the atmosphere becomes completely different — quiet, misty and surrounded by the forests and mountains of North Bengal.
