Rare Music from Star Trek Generations

In 1994, Captain Kirk passed the movie baton to the crew of The Next Generation. GNP Crescendo’s original album release in 1994 featured an excellent selection of music and sound effects from the film. As with so many original releases, key cues and sequences from the movie were missing. GNP Crescendo rectified this in 2012 with an expanded album, bringing more than 20 minutes of additional music from the film, including more from the film’s opening sequence, everything from the Argosa laboratory, and the juxtaposition between Picard’s first attempt to stop Soren while the Enterprise-D succumbs to its coolant leak and warp core breach. Most Star Trek wide release albums are only 45-50 minutes and omit many major moments from the films. The extended soundtracks restore these missing moments, but they are often limited prints, and can’t be heard using services like Spotify or Apple Music. Many of these editions were released more than 10 years ago and now they are extremely hard to find. The Generations Expanded Soundtrack itself was limited to 10,000 copies.
