The coolest thing I have ever seen! UP 4014 and R&N 2102 race up the hill at Oak Street Pittston, PA

On the afternoon of June 13th, I saw the coolest and most spectacular thing I have ever seen. UP 4014 and R&N 2102 make history as they race up the hill out of Pittston. This was the first race between two big American steam locomotives in 35 years. To skip right to the race, go to 3:03. 0:00 - The whistles of the locomotives can be heard off in the distance. The crowd gets excited, with one person even blasting an air horn. 0:21 - The smoke for the locomotives is visible on the other side of the warehouse. 1:05 - I zoom out to get a good shot of the smoke show as the locomotives get closer. 2:01 - The smoke show gets even more awesome as the two trains make their final approach to the crossing. The crossing signals activate here too. 3:03 - Show time! The two locomotives have a whistle battle as they blow for the crossing, with 2102 drowning out the noise of 4014. The two locomotives then put on a breathtaking performance as they pass the crowd. 5:08 - The two trains have passed. The crowd erupts with applause.
