Apollo Explore 2.0 Front Suspension Spring Replacement

How to replace the front suspension spring on the Apollo Explore 2.0. You'll remove the covers, fender, front wheel and swingarm to free the spring, then reassemble with a tip on greasing the sliding pin so it goes back in smoothly. TOOLS Phillips screwdriver Flathead screwdriver Allen keys: 2.5mm, 4mm, 5mm and two 6mm 18mm socket and wrench Punch Rubber mallet Optional: silicone grease REMOVAL 1. Remove the Phillips screw on the plastic cover and pry it off. Repeat on the other side. 2. Remove the cover screws with a 5mm Allen key. 3. Remove the fender with a 2.5mm Allen key. 4. Hold the top suspension bolt with one 6mm Allen key and undo it with the other, then punch the pin out from the opposite side. 5. Disconnect the brake cable, then remove the brake assembly screw with a 4mm Allen key. 6. Remove the wheel nuts with an 18mm socket. Each side has a wheel nut, washer and spacer. Keep them in order. 7. Remove the swingarm bolt with two 6mm Allen keys and take off the swingarm. Watch for small parts falling out. 8. Remove the front suspension spring. INSTALLATION 9. Seat the new spring in place, then refit the left swingarm. 10. Slide the pin back through the top of the suspension. A little silicone grease makes this easier. Check from the side that everything is aligned before pushing it in. 11. Tighten the top bolt. 12. Refit the wheel: lock washer first, then the nut. Before fully tightening, line up the brake assembly screw with its bracket and reinstall it. 13. Reconnect the brake cable: slide the small pin in, fit the spring on top, seat the end in the middle housing, and screw the cable back on. 14. Fully tighten the wheel nuts. 15. Reinstall the fender on both sides, then the plastic covers and their screws. 16. Check the front brake before riding.
