11 Things That Make a House Smell Old — My Grandmother Never Let Them In

Some houses smell old the second you open the door, and the folks who live there can't smell it at all. My grandmother's house never smelled that way. She didn't own a single air freshener. When something smelled, she went and found it, and then she washed it, aired it, dried it, or threw it out. In this video, I walk you through the eleven things that put that close, stale smell in a house, from the can of grease by the stove to the drain nobody uses, and what I do about each one today. You'll also learn my grandmother's porch test, the one-breath check that tells you exactly where to start. Not one bit of it comes in a refill.
