Lament For Owen Roe O'Neill - Greek Bouzouki with Shruti box.

Composed by Turlough O'Carolan 1670-1738. An old Irish air lamenting the death of Owen Roe O'Neill of the Ulster O'Neill dynasty - an important figure in Irish history for his resistance to foreign conquest and occupation throughout the island. Played here on Greek bouzouki with shruti box. Bouzouki came from the workshops of Andreas Dellios in Thessaloniki - similar with the trichordo six string over my left shoulder in the vid - brought it in for the high octave break in the middle.
