He was the son of father Ran Singh Lohani and mother Phulmati Lohrung. He started singing at the age of 9 and wrote and composed from 13 years old ( Yo Dillai Rakhideu Hai, Ma Timro Asha Garchhu). He has sung in more than a dozen albums. He released his first album "Mero Gunaso" in 1985 recorded in ratna recording kathmandu. "Sabaiko Maya Garidine, Aparadh Garina maile, Sindur ko Rang Man paraune le, Jaba Jaba Hunchu, ke thaha timilai are some of the greatest hit of Mr. Lohoni's Nepali musical contribution. Besides these, He released his solo Nepali Bhajan Album. "Prabhu premko mala, Avinasi Prabhu mero, Mandir jau masjid jau, Aama sarade, Ram bhanda thulo rahechh, are some of the imortal bhajan of all time.
