Every Evil Ultraman Explained

The history of corrupted and dark counterparts in the Ultra Series spans three decades, beginning with the rare American comic run of Evil Ultraman Great in 1994. Subsequent decades introduced complex psychological mirrors like Evil Tiga, whose host Keigo Masaki fought Daigo Madoka out of a desire to rule humanity. Other variations like Chaos Ultraman and Dark Zagi emerged from artificial intelligence and ancient weapon designs to challenge heroes such as Cosmos and Nexus. Figures like Dark Faust and Dark Mephisto further expanded the grim narrative depths of the franchise through dark enforcers and rare redemptions. Ultraman Belial revolutionized the concept by serving as the franchise's foundational rogue warrior whose enduring legacy spawned multiple successors and spin-off threats. Robotic and engineered duplicates like Darklops Zero and Guil Arc demonstrated how mechanical replication and manipulated trauma could weaponize a hero's likeness. Philosophical divides and ancient history also drove entities like Dark Lugiel and Ultraman Tregear to split from or turn away from the Land of Light. Modern iterations such as Ultroid Zero, Trigger Dark, and Evil Trigger continue this legacy by blending ancient darkness with contemporary defense team conflicts.
