Knottingley, West Yorkshire | Town Centre Walk 2020

Join me for a walk around the centre of the West Yorkshire town of Knottingley, located just a few miles away from Pontefract and Castleford on the easternmost edge of the county. With a history dating back over 1,000 years, Knottingley was once a major inland river port, before becoming home to a number of industries up to the 21st century. As we walk around town, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including St. Botolph's Church, Knottingley War Memorial, Knottingley Town Hall, the Knottingley and Goole Canal, St. Michael's RC Church, Ardagh Glass Works, ADM Mills, Ferrybridge Power Station, the River Aire, The Station Hotel and Knottingley Station.
