🧙 Jon Snow Must Finish Waymar Royce’s Duel

In my original Killing of a Ranger theory, I argued that the Others did not kill Waymar Royce at random. They were hunting Jon Snow. But that leaves a bigger question: if Waymar Royce was the wrong ranger, what happens when the Others finally find the right one? This video is a follow-up to Killing of a Ranger, exploring how Waymar Royce’s duel in the prologue of A Game of Thrones may foreshadow Jon Snow’s eventual confrontation with the Others. Waymar raises his sword and tells them, “Dance with me then.” He is tested, found wanting, and killed. Jon Snow may have to walk into the same kind of trap — not because he expects to win by strength, but because sacrifice may be the only way to draw the enemy out. This video was originally made before the final season of Game of Thrones aired, so some of the show-specific prediction material should be understood in that context. But the larger ASOIAF theory remains: George R. R. Martin began the entire series with a strange, ritualized duel in the haunted forest, and Jon Snow may be the person that duel was always pointing toward. Waymar Royce was the wrong ranger.
