Il notturno rivela un linguaggio maturo: meno ornamentale e più armonicamente sofisticato. La struttura, sostanzialmente tripartita e speculare, ospita una sezione centrale di grande interesse per l’audacia modulante e il cromatismo ostinato. The nocturne reveals a mature musical language: less ornamental and harmonically more sophisticated. Its essentially symmetrical tripartite form contains a central section of great interest for its bold modulations and persistent chromaticism. Dramatic and agitated in character, it stands in contrast to , while at the same time insinuating itself between , the two outer sections, both of remarkable lyrical refinement.
