Yes, it's possible 🇦🇹 We arrived at 4:45 pm in mid-September, just as the day-trippers were leaving, and took a peaceful walk from the main square to Hallstatt's famous cream roll shop. Along the way: colourful old houses squeezed between the mountains and the lake, a waterfall right in the middle of the village, and a mysterious siren that wouldn't stop 🚨 📍 Tips from our visit: ✔️ Arrive by train and take the short ferry across the lake ✔️ Parking is limited, so public transport is easier ✔️ Visit late afternoon or early morning to avoid crowds ✔️ Stay overnight to see Hallstatt at its quietest ✔️ Mid-September has great weather and fewer tourists ✔️ Wear comfortable shoes, as the streets are steep ✔️ Be respectful.
