My parents raised me with a deep understanding of my Khmer roots. They taught me our language, our history, and the importance of never forgetting who we are, no matter how far from Cambodia we live or where we were born. I grew up hearing my mother’s stories of surviving the civil war, losing family members to the horrors of the Killing Fields, and witnessing the pain and suffering our people endured. Those stories were never just stories; they were a reminder of our history, our resilience, and the sacrifices made by generations before us. I also grew up hearing about Cambodia’s rich history, the legacy of the Khmer Empire, the beauty of Angkor Wat, and the historical struggles over our land, water, and cultural heritage. These are things that have been passed down through generations, and they are not something I will ever take for granted. For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of seeing Angkor Wat with my own eyes. And when I finally had the opportunity to visit, it was more than just a trip. It was a connection to my ancestors, my heritage, and the land that has always been a part of me. No matter how far life takes me, I will never forget where I come from. Cambodia is more than a place on a map. It is my history, my identity, my roots, and a part of my soul. I may have been born far from Cambodia, but Cambodia was never far from my heart. I left my heart in Cambodia. #Khmer #Cambodia #Khmai #Thai #Tai #Thailand #Siam #Khmer Surin #Khmer Krom #Khmer Soldiers #Khmer Army #Angkor Wat #Preah Vihear #Wat Bayon #Phnom Penh #Pursat #Siem Reap #Battambang #Burma #Lao #Malaysia #Vietnam #Indonesia #Philippines #Khom #Khmer Empire #Kun Khmer #Muay Thai #Muay Lao #Kampuchea #Border War #Landmines #Ladyboys #CIA #Thieves #King #Culture Vultures #Thai Lies #ThaiYenas #ThiefLand #Thai Soldiers #Thai Army #Military #Bangkok #Ghost Mountain #Dangrek #The Killing Fields #Khao I Dang #Refugee Camps #Prachinburi #Sisaket #Buriram #Phanom Rung #Prasat #Issan #Pattaya #Phuket #Koh Kong ##Thai War #Khmer Warriors
